自然の中の人の痕跡をみて、自然の中の人為が思いのほか目立っていることに、気がつくことがあります。その痕跡は、以前その地にいた誰かが、意思や想いを携えて行動をした跡であり、時間を超えても意思を持ってその存在を伝えていることに気がつきます。
今回作者は、美しい水や土、空気の恵のあるこの地に、受け入れられ暮らしている人々に、インスピレーションを得て制作を始めました。
「天川の茶室」はこの土地の材料を使い、美しさや特徴を凝縮し、景色にした作品です。実際にこの地を訪れた方々に、ここで一息ついて、天川を、肌や五感で感じてほしいという想いを込めて制作しました。
この場には、人の時間ではなく、木の時間が流れています。個の瞬間という人時間を持つ人に対して、木は、種の永遠という時間を持っているように感じられます。継続的な種の保存の営みの中で途切れることのないゆったりとした時間が流れていることを感じることができます。
この場所にしばらくいると、自分の存在が、自然に包まれ、認められているように感じられることと思います。
When I notice traces of human presence in nature, I sometimes realize how unexpectedly visible human intervention can be within the natural world. Such traces are the marks of someone who once stood on that land, acting with intention and feeling. Even across the passage of time, they continue to convey a willful presence. For this project, the artist began with inspiration drawn from the people who have been accepted by, and live within, this place blessed with beautiful water, fertile soil, and pure air. “The Tea Room of Tenkawa” is a work created using materials from this land, condensing its beauty and distinctive qualities into a landscape. It was made with the hope that those who visit will pause here for a moment, and experience Amakawa through their skin and senses.
當我在自然之中看見人類存在的痕跡時，常會意識到，人為的介入在自然世界裡竟然如此清晰可見。這些痕跡，是曾經站在那片土地上的某個人，懷抱著意志與情感所留下的印記。即使經過時間的流轉，它們依然持續傳達著那份帶有意志的存在。
在本次創作中，藝術家從生活於這片擁有清澈水源、肥沃土壤與純淨空氣之地、並被其接納的人們身上汲取靈感，展開創作。
《天川的茶室》運用此地的材料製作，將土地的美感與獨特特質凝縮成為一處風景。作品蘊含著一份心意，希望來訪的人們能在此稍作停留，透過肌膚與五感，真切感受天川。
