Created this chamber-like installation evoking the image of a sea turtle using massive yellow balau timber and stones collected from the seashore. The work invites visitors to enter beneath the turtle’s belly and step into a square chamber embedded in the earth. Through the space held aloft by the turtle’s four limbs—aligned precisely with the height of the horizon—viewers gaze toward the Pacific Ocean, the land, and the expanse of sky in the direction the turtle faces.
Visitors may also climb onto the roof of the chamber and sit along the edge of the turtle’s back to rest, daydream, or contemplate the sea. This piece encourages people to experience Taiwan’s east coast from shifting perspectives. By descending into the earth, one approaches the most intimate proximity to Mother Nature, and from that vantage point encounters the resilience, vastness, and beauty at the origin of life.
以巨大的黃柳安木和海邊石頭，創作了這件呈現海龜意象的穴室作品。邀請觀者走入海龜肚子下方，深入土地中的方室，透過海龜四肢撐起的，剛好與地平面高度相同的視野，凝望海龜面向的太平洋與大地，天空的風景。觀者也可以走上穴室的屋頂，坐在海龜的背緣休憩、發呆、看海。這是件希望大家從不同的視野觀看東海岸的奇妙作品，當我們深入土地之中，才能從最貼近自然母親的角度，看見生命起源的強韌、廣褒與美麗。
巨大な黄柳安木と海辺の石を用いて、海亀のイメージを表現した穴室作品を制作した。鑑賞者は海亀の腹部の下へと入り、地中に設けられた方形の室内へと足を踏み入れることができる。海亀の四肢によって支えられ、ちょうど地平線と同じ高さに揃えられた視点から、海亀が向き合う太平洋と大地、そして天空の風景を見つめる構成となっている。
また、鑑賞者は穴室の屋上へ上がり、海亀の背の縁に腰掛けて休息したり、物思いにふけったり、海を眺めたりすることもできる。本作は、東海岸の風景を異なる視座から体験することを促す作品である。地中へと身を沈めることで、自然の母に最も近い角度から、生命の起源に宿る強靭さ、広がり、そして美しさを見出すことを願っている。
